EIT 2016
The Department of Computer Science endeavors to imbibe the vision of the University in its goal to “develop IT professionals with ethical values” and focuses on empowering students with competencies in theoretical, programming, communication, team work and organization and management skills.
EIT-2016- the Seventh National Conference on ‘Emerging Trends in IT’ was organized on 23rd February 2016 by the Department of Computer Science, Christ University Bangalore. The conference provided a platform to deliberate on emerging trends in IT by bringing together researchers, academicians and industry professionals across the country. It enabled them to share and exchange information from an academic and research perspective.
The conference was inaugurated at 9.30 am by Dr Venugopal K.R., Principal, University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore University. Dr. Fr. Thomas C Mathew, the Vice Chancellor, Christ University presided over the function. The conference proceedings were also released during the inauguration.
Key note speaker Dr. Sam Albert, Analytics Solution Leader from Accenture Bangalore, gave an elaborate talk on Nature Inspired Computing and his specialization area Business Analytics and Data Analytics. He also informed the gathering about Nano Medicines and Medical Data Analytics.
The paper presentations were scheduled in three different tracks. Around thirty papers were received from various authors across the country and after a rigorous evaluation process by the review committee, sixteen papers were selected. The conference witnessed good quantum of participants from across India.

Prof. T V Joseph,Head, Department of Mathematics, Christ University delivered the valedictory address. The paper titled “An enhanced constraint aware semi-supervised learning model for data clustering using SVM and normalized pointwise mutual information by Gerard Deepak and Mohammed ZakirAmeen received the best paper award. This conference enabled to showcase the achievements of the past and provided thought processes to set goals for accomplishment in the future. The Conference was well planned, advertised and organized in an extremely appreciable manner.
